We purchased the Easton Dub 30 -8 the first day it came out. There was a lot of hype surrounding this bat, they did a great job of marketing it and making it seem scarce.
We spent a lot of time breaking the bat in properly, hundreds of tee and soft toss swings. Through 7 games so far, it has held up well. Just cosmetic scratches so far.
We also have the electric unicorn and hype fire bats. The dub feels much more end loaded and the sweet spot is larger. Mis-hits aren’t as detrimental. I think that is the bigger selling point than the slightly extra pop it may have, imo.
Is it worth $500+? Arguably not, if you have one of the other aforementioned bats already. However, if you’re looking to give your athlete every advantage, no matter how small it may be, then yes. Confidence and swagger if nothing else.
